About Our Course

The job opportunities for trained dental assistants are excellent in today's marketplace.  In most parts of the country, there is an acute shortage of dental assistants.  An examination of the classified ads in the Sunday newspaper will bear this out; there is always a continuing demand for well trained dental assistants.

Following your training in this ten week course, you will have the confidence and skills necessary to apply for these positions.  Along with your diploma and x-ray certification, we will provide a letter of recommendation and a summary of your training experience to those students with a 70% or above grade average for the course.

Part of your training will involve the Job Interview itself, how to prepare for it, how to dress, what to say, etc.  So often jobs are lost during the first five minutes of the interview.  We feel it is important to train you in this area as well so that you will stand out from the rest of those competing for that position.

Additionally, many doctors call our office asking for a list of our recent student graduates.  We also inform our current class of any doctors needing Dental Assistants so that they may apply directly for the position.  Many of our externs have obtained jobs as dental assistants even before finishing the course.

Our course is unique in that it is taught in an actual practicing dental office that is equipped with the latest dental technology.  The course is primarily taught and directly supervised by Dr. Terry Myers. Dr. Myers has years of experience in dentistry and teaching as he previously taught for 16 years at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. He continues to teach and lecture dental professionals from around the country on various topics and techniques in Dentistry in our facility. The course will be constantly updated as techniques and the profession change so you will learn latest methods in assisting
